My Menu Choices For when you don't
know what to eat...
This page is about your menus. Pay attention to what you are allowed to
eat based on what phase of the diet you are on currently. During Phase I,
avoid fruits, juices and all carbohydrates. Vegetables, with the exception
of starches are fine. Starchy vegetable include things like corn, carrots
and potatoes.
When you have completed Phase I and are ready to move on to
Phase II, start introducing good carbohydrates slowly. Start with fruits
and previously off-limit vegetables first. Then you can start bringing in
some whole-grain rice, bread, noodles or whatever.
The key here is going
to be doing things slowly. Don't suddenly go back to your old diet or you
will have to start over again. Keep a close watch on things that make you
hungrier. Sometimes you may notice a particular menu item that leaves you
craving more after your meal or later in the day. If that happens, make a
note of what you ate and avoid that item for awhile.
When you have met your diet goal, you can move on to Phase
III - the maintenance phase. Again, keep in mind that you are not just
going back to eating everything in sight. Moderation is the key here. I've
found that I can eat most anything in small doses (1/2 a small baked
potato for instance) on occasion. I don't make it a daily practice
however. Most of my meals are still at least Phase II friendly and many of
them are Phase I friendly. I've maintained the same weight now for many
months keeping this system.
Here are links to my actual menus on a weekly basis. Each
link will open a new window and each menu has a link to the previous and
next week's menu.
