Welcome To The All-New Elocutions.Com!!!

This website is dedicated to your health. In March of 2006, I decided to start The South Beach Diet™ after reading the book. My wife bought the book at the urging of my daughter, who has been obsessed with living a healthy lifestyle since reaching adulthood.

Knowing who she is married to, my wife never mentioned that I should try the diet. She never even asked me to read the book. She manipulated me (as wives have been known to do since the dawning of time) by leaving the book out on the kitchen table. She knew I would read it, simply because it's non-fiction and was left in my "space". I'm a voracious learner, and she used that against me to make me finally do something positive about my health.

I have never been weight nor health conscious. I've never even considered dieting. I had a fat belly, but was pretty much average everywhere else. I am 5' 9" tall and I weighed in around 200 - 205 pounds. I know what I weighed only because I visited my doctor twice a year for an antibiotic to kill bronchial infections. I knew plenty about dieting by watching news programs and hearing about this supplement and that diet - usually followed by a horror story, a drug recall, and/or a lawsuit.

To make a long story short, I read the book and did some deeper research on the web after realizing this diet made sense. Actually, I found out that I fit the "profile" of a prime candidate for this diet. I had the extra belly fat, family history of heart disease and diabetes, and I live a pretty sedentary lifestyle. The author wasn't talking to me, he was talking about me.

I had been played like a fiddle and I knew it. The two best women in my life had conspired against me, using their knowledge of my habits to get me to do something they wanted me to do. They applied no verbal pressure, simply waited for me to "decide for myself" that this diet was meant for me.

Retaining what masculine dignity I could, I decided to start the diet - but I was going to do it MY way. This website chronicles my journey to a new-found health consciousness. I share it with the world, in hopes that others find value in my experience.
